STAP with Battle Droid

One of the coolest Star Wars Episode I small vehicles (and the actual first "Menace" release, although in a Sneak Preview package).

An excellent patrol and reconnaissance vehicle, STAPS are piloted by battle droids, which function as the Trade Federation´s personal drone army.

European box version.

Complete parts view, unassembled.

The STAP is a small, mobile and rapidly moving craft outfitted with high-power dual laser missiles.

Including a handgrip (clear stand) to simulate hovering and flying, this craft is considerably detailed and like many of other Star Wars vehicles, very close to the actual movie models.

Figure: Battle droid STAP pilot

Articulated enough to perform needed poses, the funny loose articulation actually reminds the movie droids.

Features removable backpack.

Detail shots. The painting also helps to make this toy yet another great collectible.

Button under handgrip activates battle droid and fires missiles.

A small set and a great asset.

Pirate Expeditions Island Beast Playset - Black Widow

As well as so many other themes, "Pirate Expeditions" also had small "Beast Packs" with one figure included.

This one here presented, included a giant spider and one of the first series pirates. Some are still available through retail : Pirate Expeditions Island Beast Playset Get it while you can!

A decent amount of goodies.

Included items.

Included accessories. That wreckage part was one of four. Each one included in a different "Island Beast" assortment. They could all snap together into one.

Beast: "Black Widow".

Figure: "Viper Bill".

A lot of good poses, plus a moving waist. A definite minus... the musket molded into the arm. Or the other way around. Either way... bad move.

Zoids2 - Cruncher

Cruncher was a great Zoid. Based on the Grizzly Bear, it featured a beautiful metalized green and a stand up alternative position!

Complete with box and instructions!

Main operating position. Great details and nice motorized walking action.

Alternative position. Also walks on its back legs. But more zombie-like...

Isometric view of both operating positions and cockpit view. Mouth also opens, but manually. Overall, a great piece and fabulous for a shelf. Looks mean and threatening!

The Corps! S.T.A.R. Force Rover

1998 "Planet Rover". Design may have been inspired by NASA´s Lunar Roving Vehicle (moon buggy).

Included items. The LRV, 3 figures (curiously more than major size vehicles) with respective accessories and a great figure stand with flag.

Included accessories. While weapons, backpacks and hand equipment are pretty much the same throughout "The Corps! S.T.A.R. Force" sets, some came with these awesome figure stands.

Figures: S.T.A.R. Force astronaut team members "2", "3" and "4".

The "Planet Rover". Holds 2 seated figures and you can manage to fit 2 more in the back, although the area is for equipment storage.

Detail shots. Observe the hole behind the seats. Backpacks go in there. The seats look "racing". Pretty cool.

Action shots with figures and missile-launching system.

Dino Quest Trekker Bill with Small Dinosaur

An oldie... or better put... a classic. "Dino Quest Rescue Mission". The simplicity of its molds back in the day (in comparison with today´s Chap Mei stuff) was already interesting and of note.

From 2001, this was another carded version/variation of figure + small dinosaur playset. Later with Dino Valley lines, it was common to find both boxed and carded versions of the exact same playset.

Included items. For more details on the figure, refer to Dino Quest Action Figure Playset - Trekker Bill.

Included accessories.

Dinosaur: Dilophosaurus V.1.

Zoids2 - Raptor

Two double-barrelled cannons that can be moved around 300º. One on each side.

Movable claws reveal guns to quickly send its enemies to oblivion!

Being a smaller Zoid (not the smallest, though), it is powered by a wind up motor.
