The Corps! Commando Force Sniper Scout figures

Thursday, March 31, 2011

One of Lanard´s The Corps! best - ever - creations, the Elite Edition Commando Force Sniper Scout figures.

In 2005, Lanard picked up 4 characters from previous 2003 release of this Elite Edition series and included "snap on" camo!

The "Sniper Scouts" were Hawk (pictured above), John Eagle, Flashbang and Flashfire.

Figure: Hawk.

Included accessories.

Geared up sniper scout Hawk!

Ghille suits are sniper´s most effective form of camouflage.

Burlap strips are tied together to make ground cover that they wear to blend into their surroundings.

The Thing Car - Fantastic 4

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

A Marvel Legends item, a much explored ground nowadays by G.I.Joe customizers

Muscle car, caddy-looking. Comes with custom paint and parts of the Thing figure. Originally, this car comes with the figure too.

Includes real rubber tires, different sound and light effects by pushing the 2 buttons on its back. Nasty-looking wheels!

For the Thing, this car fits his own self, but for thinner figures, you can put 2 in there. And if you have some Sgt. Savage figures, it fits their size too.

Custom fodder: Stats Splash Turbo Racer Boat

Monday, March 28, 2011

Another toy found for a friendly price and purchased with a specific purpose: G.I.Joe... adaptation.

I must say I always had the fixation with toy boats such as Racing Remote Controlled Boat. And I still hold this dream of customizing a Moray Hydrofoil with R/C capabilities. But returning to this actual item, it was found in the "aqua sports and pools" section at some Toys R Us store, and considering the low price, captured my attention. The definite "ok" would be given by the scale/size. That dark windshield is so cool.

Given the toy boat size, I had a future fast attack or escape boat in mind for Joes or Cobra in the custom line.

Some all around shots give you an idea of the hull shape and engine positioning, all pretty good for the money spent.

The engine requires a "C" size battery and supposedly turns on upon contact with water. Will be tried, I assure you. For now, I´ll take their word for it.

For the interesting part. Disassembling the cockpit and scale shots with ARAH G.I.Joe figure. I wouldn´t consider this to be a "on the fly" conversion. The scale is about 90% on the money, but as we all know, many if not most Hasbro lines vehicles weren´t scaled for the figures, but adapted for playability maintaining them as realistic in size as possible. Same happens here and I can´t wait to shape it even more.

Star Wars Landspeeder

Sunday, March 27, 2011

From 1995, the POTF2 line. Another repaint of the original line of the 70s and one of the first 3 vehicles ever created and sold after "STAR WARS - A New Hope".

Luckly for collectors, they didn´t touch the mold in 1995 and just painted it really close to the movie vehicle.

Pop-Open Hood!

With Shift-Action Running Gear. Wheel mechanism allows the vehicle to move like Luke and Obi-Wan´s arrival at Mos Eisley: Bumping in the air.

Trade value: 25€

Status: MIB. Opened for assembly and photo shoot.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Villains

Saturday, March 26, 2011

Distributed by Popco (Cards, Inc) and in Western Europe by Giochi Preziosi, the villains from "Order of the Phoenix" set of figures from the fifth movie.

Now highly sough-after figures, it´s almost a crime to open these up, but that´s what we´re here for!

Lord and his minions!

Figure: Lord Voldemort.

Included accessories: Wand and Nagini, the Snake.

One of the coolest snakes for 4" (or close enough) figures out there!

Figure: Death Eater (silver mask).

Included accessories: Wand and Apparating Smoke Base.

Can be unassembled, and the clear base can serve as a stand.

Figure: Death Eater (dark mask).

Included accessories: Wand (different from silver mask version) and the Smoke Base.

Other than the mask, it´s the same figure as the silver version.

Without the cape. Being collectors action figures, these guys really need a stand, they´re not meant to stand on their feet... as it seems.

As far as use with other lines, it goes perfectly with the most recent Hasbro´s G.I.Joe figures.

A perfect cloud of smoke for a Ninja.

3DPuzzle Great Warriors - European Black Knight

Thursday, March 24, 2011

As requested, another Great Warriors figure from Giro Toys & Games.

Knights with black finished armour, where quite a common sights throughout Europe in the 15th century. However, we cannot be positive if this black finishing was due to painting or some kind of controlled oxidation process.

Included parts.

Assembled view. The shield emblem was called "fleur-de-lis" the flower of the lily, traditionally this has been used to represent French royalty, and in this sense it is said to signify perfection, light and life.

The beautiful (included) stand.

The figure has some articulation, but limited.

In the 12th century, the king of France became the first to use the fleur-de-lis on his shield. English knights later used the symbol on their coats of arms to emphasize their claims to the throne of France.

The figure is awsome, as a poseable statue mainly. And the sword and shield, being removable, can be used with 4" to 7" figures depending on the use one cares to invent. Also, if you´re crazy enough to paint it gray, it makes a spectacular statue for a plaza.
