Vikings Darkwater Sharkie Playset - Mighty Mo - Bootleg

Already said in previous posts, we´re not exactly bootleg fans. The exceptions here presented have proven to be worth the "exception" title. This is another one of those cases. All hail Mighty Mo!

Including phthalate free seal guarantee, this is a new generation of bootlegs... and you almost need an expert eye to know the difference. Apart from the fact that these boxes don´t hold the CM logo+brand, neither do the figures.

Distributed by "Color Baby", this set was available in western Europe.

Included items.

Included accessories.

Figure: "Longtooth Siguard".

Figure: "King Harald".

Figure (since they named it): "Mighty Mo". A collector´s favorite!

Wild Boar chariot. When moving, the front saw moves too.

Removable darts and action shots with "King Harald".

Scale shot for 3 3/4" figure comparison.

Status: Unavailable

The viking line is very fine. If I was able to find them in stores with a resonable price I would like to add some of them to my collection.

  2. Unbelievable that this was bootlegged! You'd think that a piece as big as Mighty Moe wouldn't get the bootleg treatment - but there it is. Impossible.
I hate this, and in particular because with all these bootlegs around, it's getting harder and harder to distinguish the real Chap Mei sets with the cheap bootleg stuff. if I had seen this set on Ebay I'd have thought it legit, were it not for the fact that King Harold's sword is unpainted, and the - really weird- addition of the Boar saw chariot, which isn't even a Vikings item but a Legend of Knights II piece, and thus made for the taller knights.

  3. For a bootleg, it looks pretty official. I really dig that chariot. Love how it's a one man operational vehicle and the front saw is dreadful to anyone or anything being pursued.

  4. The one good thing about good bootlegs is that you won´t feel sorry for cutting away while customizing. Take this set as an example. It can actually be converted into a dreadful motorized destruction machine and if it turns out bad... well, it was a bootleg!

  5. Strange names your toys feature. On the bootlegs I bought, the back of the "box" identified all the characters as Norse gods and monsters. These two were called Fenrir (one of Loki's children, a giant wolf) and Freyr (a god and master swordsman whose hand was devoured by Fenrir). I like those names MUCH better.

Really love the wolf, though. With his claw and his giant war axe.

  6. Actually, if you check your Norse mythology, you´ll find these names here are not that strange, and are actually somehow accurate. In Norse Mythology, there was a King Harald (Hildetand)and while the wolf here is called Siguard (victory, guardian), the was various SIGURD from which you can choose, for instance, Sigurd Snake in the Eye, one of Ragnar´s sons.Fenrir was more of a monster, and Freyr a God, like you said yourself. But for toy purposes, I must agree with Chap Mei by naming the action figures after lesser entities. But I liked the fact you dig Norse Mythology. Thanks for your comment.
